"Florilegium" means a collection of flowers, translated from Latin.

The term is used to describe a collection of flower portraits, where the images are emphasized on the apperance of the plants and flowers, rather than the description text. The exploration of the flower universe is the continuing theme that runs throughout Anna Blincoes work. In her work she is constantly looking for ways to express and reveal the inner and outer world of nature of flowers and plants.

Anna Blincoe was born in Kerteminde, a small town on the island of Fyn in Denmark. However most Anna Blincoes childhood was spent in Malaysia
with her Danish mother and British father, who worked as a manager of plantation estates. This period in her life stands out as one of the most important sources of inspiration for her paintings and drawings.
In 1978 Anna Blincoe moved from Malaysia to England, where she later received her BA Hons Degree in Fine Arts at Falmouth University, Cornwall. In 1994 Anna Blincoe moved back to Denmark and now lives her family just north of Copenhagen.

Anna Blincoe uses a variety of techniques such as graphite, ink, oil paint and charcoal. Her work was first exhibited in 1994 in one of the major juried exhibitions "Den Frie" (Efterårsudstilling), Centre of Contemporary Art ion Copenhagen. Since then her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions both in Denmark and England.

In 2015 the watercolor White Amaryllises was entered in to the RWS Contemporary Watercolour Competition Exhibition at the Bankside Gallery in London. Her work was also featured at the London Art Fair 2015 by Jonathan Cooper of Park Walk Gallery in Chelsea, London.

In 2016 two of Anna Blincoes large scale pencil drawings entered the prestigious permanent exhibition at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kew Gardens, London, at the Gallery of Botanical Art led by dr. Shirley Sherwood.

In 2017 Anna Blincoe was - by the Borough of Gentofte in Copenhagen - awarded the honory title "Artist of the Year 2017".
